Today I bring you another submission from my son Zev (age 12). This metaphor came to him and he had to get it down right away. He also wanted me to tell you all that he has pet rats which is why he used mice rather than rats as his metaphor.


The Mouse of Sickness

Sickness is like a mouse

it can fit through the smallest spaces

infest you when you least expect it.

Even if you can’t see it

it is there.

Check out this great blog entry on the use of pink as an emblem in breast cancer education and fundraising. I thought it addressed a contentious issue with thoughtfulness and graciousness. The woman who wrote it, Katie Ford Hall, hosts a blog called Uneasy in Pink.
